I am a researcher interested in sustainable energy and environment. My main research focus is to develop π-conjugated materials for energy harvesting, conversion, storage, and a sustainable environment. I am an expert in design, organic synthesis, and molecular engineering of π-conjugated materials for energy and environmental-related applications. Furthermore, my interdisciplinary research background in organic chemistry, photochemistry, and electrochemistry gives me unique insights to address challenging issues.
I recently received my Ph.D. in chemistry under the direction of Prof. Tae-Hyuk Kwon at Ulsan National Institute of Science & Technology (UNIST), Republic of Korea. Research work I have focused on during my Ph.D. course is synthesis and molecular engineering of π-conjugated organic materials, particularly push-pull organic photosensitizers for dye-sensitized solar cells. I controlled the photophysical properties of photosensitizers by modifying their molecular and electronic structures to enhance photovoltaic performances, and investigated their properties with spectroscopic, electrochemical, and computational methods. My future research goals are to extend and develop my molecular engineering skills to photosensitizers and photocatalysts for synthetic photoelectrochemistry, such as upcycling plastic wastes
