Electromediated Photoredox Catalysts (e-PRCs)
Synthetic photoelectrochemistry is a rapidly developing research field. Traditional synthetic organic electrochemistry and photochemistry have limitations of redox potentials by the potential window of solvent and the energy of visible-light photon, respectively. However, e-PRCs, a kind of synthetic photoelectrochemistry, can perform single electron transfer with extreme redox potentials by SOMO-HOMO inversion.
To progress this research field, it is essential to develop powerful e-PRC and useful organic reactions. My research interest is molecular engineering of e-PRCs to achieve extreme reduction or oxidation potentials and to enhance precomplexation with substrate. Furthermore, I'm currently utilizing newly synthesized e-PRCs in organic reactions related to the sustainable environment.
